- Where: Boone, N.C.
The National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) partnered with Appalachian State University’s Frontline to Farm program to bring its Frontline to Farm Beginner and Alumni Trainings to North Carolina for the second time.
Many first time trainees and alumnis joined us our Farmer Veteran Training to learn about business planning, budgeting, recordkeeping, marketing, USDA programs, livestock production, fruit and vegetable production and more. Participants were given the oppurunity to tour many farms accross the high country, and alumnis were invited back for our networking dinner at Shipley Farms. They gain a strong foundation in the basic principles of operating a sustainable farm. In addition, Armed to Farm attendees join a nationwide network of supportive farmer-veterans and agricultural advisors.
